Promo only, and import only at that....this qualifies as being very rare, even if not 100% "unique" to the box set (the only place the track is commercially available). > This Is ... A Japanese promo-only LP. This is an official item? Pretty damn obscure....most people don't even play records (I do but I don't merely speak for myself), and certainly have no clue as to how to obtain a Japanese-only promo-only one released who knows how long ago. While the above is neat to know about it's certainly not a means of writing off the tracks as being "available" by other means than the new box set -- "available" means that one can fairly easily obtain something and it implies that it can be used as well -- neither of which is the case for the vast majority of fans here, whereas they can simply order the box set from the offical fan club. > "> Rescue Me (alt single mix) > > Only other place this is available is on the US cassette single > (and > possibly the 7"...not sure). US promo CD3s are just oh-so-common, right? :-) Damn. These tracks are only available commercially on Japanese 3" discs, which are all out of print....basically if you want them on CD, you better buy the box set, unless you have a way of securing old, rare promos. Andrew, thank you for providing answers about where some of the tracks I inquired about are located. I hope you understand my point however, which is simply that the box set contains a sizable number of tracks that are extremely rare and hard to find elsewhere, and some of which were promo only tracks beforehand. Therefore it is a good deal for a lot of fans who don't have access to such exclusive, rare, old collector's items like you might, and in light of that the box set should not be put down in terms of its musical content, even if it has other shortcomings and does not provide tons of new material. In discussing products it's important to be realistic, and not simply technical, in evaulating their value; otherwise you're doing a disservice to those who put stock in your views, which are presented as fact. Even the vast majority of collectors don't have access to Japanese only promo LPs, for example -- if people want the exclusive edits they contain, they must look at the box set. Therefore it's extremely misleading to say that the only "unique" thing on the set is the LAP edit -- "unique" can have a wider meaning than you allow it, in your strict, narrow, technical interpretation -- but for the majority of people reading your post, there are indeed MANY "unique" tracks on the set, and they should be aware of that.
